Arcade Advent Calendar, 11 December
The Christmas pudding has a special place in the hearts of Australians gathering for Christmas lunch or dinner. Whether the pud’ is made months in advance, hung and dried, boiled on the day or stuffed with sixpences (as it is in my family, though Dad doesn’t pay out anymore), it is the pièce de résistance of Christmas Day.
6pm this Wednesday night 14 December we’re hosting Christmas drinks at Melbournalia Home (rear 126 Franklin St, Melbourne), where culinary author and food historian Charmaine O’Brien will recount the puddings of Australian Christmases past, their importance at our annual gatherings and even share the secret to a traditional Christmas pudding. AND THEN SHE’LL SET ONE ON FIRE!
So join us to toast the year that’s been. There’ll even be Christmas pudding flavoured lollipops for those who’ve been good! RSVP here.
